Jim Fielder, Head of Sustainable Business
MBA (Strategic Carbon Management), MSc, BSc
Jim heads up BioRegional’s companies programme. Before joining BioRegional, Jim studied for an MBA in Strategic Carbon Management at the University of East Anglia. With experience in the public, private and NGO sectors and strong expertise in sustainable resource management and behaviour change, Jim spent 10 years running campaigns at national charity Waste Watch and more recently, providing business support to the reuse, recycling and re-manufacturing sectors at the London Development Agency and London Remade.
As well as gaining a distinction in his MBA, Jim has a Diploma in Management Consultancy, an MSc in Rural Resources and Environmental Policy and a BSc Hons in Geography. He is a member of the Institute of Business Consulting.
Jane Hersey, Footprinting and Materials Manager 
Jane Hersey heads up the Footprinting and Materials Team at BioRegional and leads on technical work at One Planet Products. Jane has also worked with a wide range of partners providing carbon footprinting and material assessments including retailers, local authorities and housing associations.
Jane specialises in ecological footprinting, which is a key tool used by BioRegional to measure sustainability. She sits on the Global Footprint Network’s Standards Committee which oversees scientific review procedures and standards for footprint calculations. Recently Jane worked with the London Sustainable Development Commission on a report titled “Capital Consumption: the transition to sustainable consumption and production”. This examines the carbon emissions associated with consumption in London, including consumer goods and the materials involved in building our homes.
Tom Hill, Sustainability Consultant
BSc (York), MA (Open), AIEMA
Tom is a consultant in BioRegional’s Footprinting and Materials department and researches building products and materials for One Planet Products. For the last couple of years he has been a key member of a team working with B&Q to undertake sustainability assessments of the home improvment retailer’s product range, providing expert advice and guidance on the environmental impacts of existing and new products. Tom is trained in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and ecological and carbon footprinting methodologies.
Prior to BioRegional, Tom worked at the London based consultancy EcoConsulting where he worked an energy consultant, carrying out SAP assessments for a range of different organisations. Tom graduated with a BSC (Hons) in Environment, Economics and Ecology from the University of York and has an MA in Environment, Policy and Society from the Open University.
Ben J Gill, Sustainability Consultant 
Ben is a consultant in BioRegional’s Materials and Footprinting team. He currently supports carbon and ecological footprinting projects, ranging from individuals, to products, to large multi-nationals. Ben is also working with up to 150 SME’s based in the London Borough of Sutton as part of an EU-funded project. He carries out eco-audits to help local businesses reduce their impact, whilst developing a local SME network.
Ben joined BioRegional in 2010, having graduated from a Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development, which introduced him to the challenges of leading sustainability within organisations including Bupa, Leeds City Council and The Financial Times. Following an undergraduate architecture degree which gave Ben a grounding in urban living and masterplanning, he spent 18 months working as a Junior Urban Designer for Studio REAL in Oxford. Whilst there, he worked on market town regeneration schemes and sustainable urban extensions, as well as helping Studio REAL to reduce its own organisational footprint.
